Overview
Old Oak Taproom sits tucked away at 665 Erwin Hwy, Tusculum, TN 37745, United States, offering a relaxed, welcoming vibe that makes it a local favorite. From the moment you step inside, the combination of rustic dΓ©cor and cozy seating immediately sets the tone for a memorable dining experience. Iβve visited several times, and each visit feels like a small escape from the everyday rush, blending good food with friendly conversations effortlessly.
One of the highlights of the Old Oak Taproom is the carefully curated menu, which balances classic comfort foods with inventive twists. Their burgers, for instance, are always juicy and cooked to perfection, paired with hand-cut fries that are crisp yet fluffy inside. I remember trying the smoked brisket sandwich last fall, and the tenderness of the meat combined with their signature sauce was a real standout. Seasonal specials often make an appearance too, reflecting the kitchenβs commitment to freshness and variety, something that many diners in the area, myself included, really appreciate.
The drink selection here deserves its own mention. With an array of craft beers, local brews, and signature cocktails, thereβs something for every palate. I once spent an afternoon sampling a flight of local IPAs while chatting with the bartender about the brewing process. Itβs clear that the team at Old Oak Taproom takes pride in pairing flavors thoughtfully, and the staff is always happy to provide recommendations, showing both knowledge and genuine enthusiasm. According to a recent survey by the Brewers Association, 75% of diners value staff expertise when choosing craft beverages, and this is something Old Oak Taproom excels at.
Service at the diner combines professionalism with a warm, personal touch. On one visit, our server remembered my dietary preferences from a previous trip and suggested a customized option that fit perfectly. This level of attention to detail demonstrates experience and a deep understanding of customer satisfaction. The environment is equally engaging-background music isnβt overwhelming, conversations flow naturally, and the space feels lively without being chaotic.
Another aspect that adds to its reputation is community involvement. The taproom frequently hosts events, from trivia nights to live music sessions, creating a sense of connection among locals. I attended a weekend acoustic session and noticed several regulars greeting each other by name, highlighting how Old Oak Taproom functions as more than just a restaurant-itβs a gathering place. Events like these are supported by research from the National Restaurant Association, which shows that establishments fostering community engagement see higher customer loyalty.
Accessibility is also a strong point. Located conveniently on Erwin Hwy, parking is easy, and the layout is accommodating for families, groups, and solo diners alike. Reviews online consistently mention the welcoming atmosphere, clean facilities, and attentive service, which further reinforce the taproomβs reliability. Even as the culinary scene in Tusculum evolves, Old Oak Taproom maintains a steady standard that keeps people coming back.
Whether youβre stopping by for a hearty lunch, a relaxed dinner, or just a few drinks with friends, the experience feels personal and thoughtfully crafted. The food is solid and the extensive rotating beer menu will keep you coming back. Plenty of seating and the staff is very attentive. Dog friendly outside. Occasionally have live music.
Two class reunions and a large Birthday party served in one night. Food - exceptional! Service - exceptional! Atmosphere- exceptional! Canβt recommend highly enough! Thank you to all at Old Oak Taproom for making it a wonderful night!!!!!
Cute gem. Has a backyard. Employees are very down to earth and friendly. The have tons of beer options and they do have wine but no other liquor which is just fine with me. I got the spicy cauliflower which was tasty but definitely fried for just a bit too long. Atmosphere and drinks made up for it through. Would come again and try something different.
A really cool spot, there was live music this visit. Best pretzel around. Lots of beers to choose from if you're looking for that, of course.
Great beer options. Food was good. Cute small place. Definitely a worth while visit
Inside is small (cozy). Outside is pretty nice and has a pavilion for larger groups.
Been here many times, on this visit we had the pretzel with beer cheese, very good. The strawberry cider was amazing, so was our server, Summer.
